Four out of six learners who completed their matric studies as Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) bursary holders at  the prestigious Lawhill Maritime Centre at Simon’s Town High School, achieved a total of 10 distinctions in the 2017 matric examinations.

Qhubeka, a charity that moves people forward with bicycles is distributing 175 bicycles to schoolchildren and Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) volunteers in the Paarl East community (150 bicycles for learners and 25 for NHW members). The learners’ bicycles have been funded by Team Dimension Data, Africa’s first World Tour cycling team, and will help schoolchildren to travel to and from school more easily.
