City Mission will be hosting a ‘Stop Hunger Now Meal Packaging Event’.
Last year many volunteers and friends of City Mission packed 10 000 meals in under 3 hours. The volunteers ranged from teens as young 14 years up to the ages of around 75 years of age.
It costs City mission R28 512 to supply 48 Boxes (10 368 meals), that will sustain thousands through the winter months. Get your company and staff involved, or as an individual, make your donation that will go towards the purchase of raw ingredients for the meals. Make your donation.
The meal packaging event is a fun and engaging way for volunteers to be part of the drive to address hunger and food deprivation in families. City Mission will award each volunteer with a Community Service Certificate. The meals are highly nutritious and comprise of rice, soya, dehydrated vegetable mix and a fortification pack of 23 essential minerals and vitamins specifically formulated to combat malnutrition (complying with the UNICEF standard).
The event takes place on the 2nd May this year and City Mission is calling on Volunteers who would love to get involved in the programme. Come and join us and become part of this annual amazing event. Applications will close once we reach 70 volunteers.
