The Hout Bay Cycling Club was founded by a group of veteran cyclists who wanted to provide Hout Bay youngsters with an opportunity to experience the world of cycling while offering a healthy alternative to the negative influences found within their communities.
By participating in our cycling programme the riders learn important life skills such as
- dedication, and
In addition, the boys receive counselling about career and life choices.
Our vision is to have one of our riders become a professional bicycle racer.
By supporting the Hout Bay cycling Club, you not only help disadvantaged kids realise their dream, you also contribute to their overall development, as we place a very strong emphasis on teh overall development of the individual.
The Hout bay Cycling Club is not a big club - currently we have 13 teenage boys from the Imizami Yethu and hangberg communities.
Given limited resources, we have limited bandwith, but aim to have a high impact on the areas where we believe we can make a difference.
