Ensure every rider as a racing bike that can complete at least a 100 km road race, such as the Cape Town Cycle Tour or the Tour of Stellenbosch
Ensure every rider has the equipment to enable him to be safe and competitive in these races.
Ensure our riders are academically successful
Ensure our riders develop their physiological capabilities as far as our resources will allow
Get our riders to as many racing events as possible (this is done at own cost to the committee members)
In the process, expose our riders to competitive situations that require ethical yet competitive behaviour in a way that demonstrats good sportmanship
Aspirationally, we want to compete in as many criteriums and 100 km road races as possible, while also taking a team to the Coronation Double Century
One of our senior riders will be completing his B Tech degree this year and we want to offer him the opportunity to complete a short internship overseas.
Success is defined as:
Providing a platform where our kids can train, race and perform safely, while developing as young adults.
Achieve sport/life balance, realizing that there is a world beyond school and sport that they need to prepare for.
Where possible, get them into feeder or professional teams, as we believe a number of them have the talent for that.
To ensure our riders have the best possible equipment and opportunities, we require R 100,000 funding.
This will be allocated to bicycles, shoes, helmets, clothing, after event clothing, transport and feeding.
