Nazareth House Fun Fair - Celebrating 130 years…
The Nazareth House Fun Fair took place on the 26th and 27th of October celebrating the 130th anniversary. The fun filled event included food stalls, arts & craft stalls, children’s activities and games along with an amazing line-up of live acts.
The Saturday started off with a performance from the SA National Circus who showed off there amazing acrobatic skills and ability to entertain a big crowd. The HiTones then kicked off the performances on the main stage followed by the Steve Van Band, The Soap Girls, Blues Broers with Albert Frost, iScream & the Chocolate Stix and the headlining act, Ard Matthews & John Ellis.
The most popular activities included Bubble Balls, Xbounce and Sumo Wrestling. Another highlight was the amazing variety of food stalls including tastes from America, Italy, Mexico, India, Malaysia, China and South Africa.
The event was a perfect family fun day with entertainment, music and most of all FUN! Some lucky fun fair goers went home with more than they came with. The major raffle winners took home flight tickets, Bed and Breakfast vouchers, Charly’s Bakery vouchers and much more.
The Nazareth House Fun Fair would have not been possible without the generosity of the community, staff and volunteers who dedicated their time into making this event a success.

A Visit from the Charly’s Cake Angels
On the 12th of November we had a delicious visit from Charly’s Bakery and the Charly’s Cake Angels film crew. Alex (one of the Charly’s team members) was celebrating her birthday and was generous enough to share the festivities and treats with our children. The party started with a touching speech from Alex, who expressed her admiration for the carers and the appreciation of the work Nazareth House does.
As Alex blew out her candles she asked all the kids to join in with her to make their very own special wish. This was followed by eating… eating… and more eating leading to a major sugar rush! We were all then treated to a fabulous magic show, which had us on the edge of our seats and the kids absolutely mystified.
We would like to give a big thank you to Charly’s Bakery who created such a memorable moment for our children.
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the episode of Charly’s Cake Angels featuring Nazareth House!
The Little Big Walk
This year the annual Discovery Cape Times Little Big Walk took place on the 4th of November with Nazareth House being the main beneficiary. We joined in the action and put on our walking shoes to trek a distance of 1.2kms (0.75 miles)! Our kids took on the challenge alongside almost 1000 participants.
There was a variety of entertainment including carousel rides, magic shows, goodie bags and medals for all the participants. Our kids had an amazing time and were very proud to have completed such a big journey.
We would like to sincerely thank Discovery Health and Cape Times for choosing Nazareth House as the main beneficiary for the Little Big Walk this year.
