About Us

Common Good was founded in 2005 and impacts thousands of lives across South Africa each day through our Early Life (First Thousand Days), Education, and Employment initiatives.

We are passionate about seeing the cycles of intergenerational poverty broken and implementing research-based, replicable, innovative interventions that give people a hand-up, not a handout. Instead of working at the symptoms of poverty, we swim upstream and tackle these injustices closer to their source and by partnering with other organisations we're able to do this at scale.

Forging Career Pathways at Silikamva High

This month, we asked for volunteers to help 21 matriculants with online tertiary applications. We are thrilled to report that 2 got into further studies, and 5 alumni from 2022 were accepted into various institutions.

A READING REVOLUTION | Literacy Interventions by Common Good

The COVID-19 pandemic dealt the South African education system a major blow with many children having no one to read to them during this period, and some had no books at home even if they did want to read.

At Common Good we are committed to enabling individuals and communities that have been impacted by brokenness or injustice as they seek to live full and flourishing lives as intended by Jesus:

- We focus on critical developmental phases where intervention has significant impact in breaking cycles of poverty: Early Life, Education and Employment. We specialise in research-based innovation and replicable initiatives that embed change within local communities.

- We support churches to leverage their unique strengths and assets to address injustice and to ignite Christ-followers to live lives of justice and mercy.
