1700 Children Rescued from the Streets! Our 20th Anniversary...

Amani will have a TWENTY-year powerful track record in helping children off the street, into quality education, and back into their families and communities.

I just want to thank you again, for all you have done, and still are doing to help the Amani street children. Thanks to you, more than 1,700 children and youth have been rescued from the dangerous streets and helped into more positive futures, in the past (almost) 20 years of Amani's existence.

And yes, you read that correctly! -- this October, Amani will have a TWENTY-year powerful track record in helping children off the street, into quality education, and back into their families and communities. More than 1,700 children who, because of you, went from Struggle to Smiles!

And though we are still suffering many COVID-related challenges here in Tanzania, we really want to CELEBRATE this Milestone with you, to thank you for your friendship and for showing so much Love to the Amani Children.

Special Celebrations!

First: on Saturday 2 October, we hope to run a powerful 20-Year Celebration Event online, with all our international Friends and Family! It promises to be a high-energy, heart-warming hour, filled with children's stories about the transformation in their young lives. A time to celebrate all these children who went from Street to Success because of you.

Second: from 1st of August to the end of September, a large group of our international Friends will embark on a Virtual Kilimanjaro Climbing Adventure together. We would love it if you could join too! While you will be "climbing" Kili, the Amani Children will cheer you on along the way, with special photo and video encouragements, so you WILL succeed to conquer the 60 miles / 97 kilometers from Start to Summit.

In 2001, Amani was established by Tanzanians who were concerned about the growing number of street children due the HIV-AIDS epidemic. It started in a humble three-room, rented home. Today, Amani is considered one of the leading organizations caring for street children in East Africa.

The goal has always been to care for the children until they can be reunited with their families – Amani is not an orphanage. We encourage the children to follow the faith of their choosing, and provide transportation to nearby churches and the mosque.

Thanks to the ongoing support of international donors and monthly sponsors, Amani has grown substantially. Today we help 750+ children a year, operate four facilities, and employ close to 100 Tanzanian staff. Amani is governed by a Tanzanian Board of Directors. Our finances have an independent annual external audit.
