Each one of us can make a difference. Together we make a change!

Author: Project Playground

Kelibogile has spent her life looking at the world lying down. Since she became a participant at Play on Wheels three years ago, Project Playground South Africa has tried to get her a custom-made wheelchair.

But the waiting list with the government is miles long, and the type of wheelchair she required was just too expensive for us to purchase.

But thanks to the generosity of a donor, we could finally place the order of the specialised chair that she needed. And to witness the overflow of emotions as her mother saw her sit up for the first time in years was magical. Thank you Epiroc for changing the life of a child and giving her the chance to view the world from a different angle. One child at a time.

What happens early, matters for a lifetime!

"Being part of Project Playground at a very young age really helped me a lot and molded me to be the person that I am today.” - Colin Mkosi, PPG alumni.

Colin grew up in the township of Langa and is a former participant at Project Playground. He says Project Playground was an integral part of his development and he learned that being brave is not the absence of fear but acknowledging the feeling of being scared and still going for it. Today Colin owns a couple of businesses and a couple of weeks back received a special award for his entrepreneurial thinking and approach. Not only is his achievement remarkable, but so is his personality and his hunger for learning. Project Playground believes that children and youth who can develop into confident, contributing adults contribute not only to safer communities, but also to a positive, sustainable future. Colin is proof that hard work, the right tools, and determination can take you to places you barely believe ever possible. We are so proud of Colin.
