Mandela Day Parent Infant Support Drive

We are now in our second year of battling the Covid Pandemic and its devastation, again showing us that the only way we get through these trying times, is together.

THIS MANDELA DAY  THE PARENT CENTRE WOULD LIKE YOU TO 'BE THE CHANGE'

We are now in our second year of battling the Covid Pandemic and its devastation, again showing us that the only way we get through these trying times, is together.

That is why this Mandela Day, The Parent Centre are inviting you, our friends and family, to join us in supporting those who are most vulnerable in our programmes. We have highlighted a significant number of our new mothers in the Parent Infant Programme who are in quite dire situations and in urgent need of the basics such as food, nappies and clothing for their babies.
 
This Mandela Day join us - Donate 67 items or give R67 towards baby items. 
 
The main items needed:

 

  • Cloth Nappies
  • Baby Grows: 0-3mths, 3-6mths, 6-12mths
  • Socks, Beanies and gloves
  • Warm blankets
  • Nutritional Baby Cereal/food
  • Formula
  • Face clothes
  • Wipes

 

You can also assist us in our newly launched drive to collect 'New Mom Support Boxes' (similar to Santa Shoeboxes but for New moms in need) which we can distribute within the vulnerable communities.
Each donated box should have the following (approx. cost of R350 if you would prefer to donate towards a box instead):

 

  • 3 cloth nappies
  • Baby grows, a beanie, socks, gloves 
  • A pack of wipes,
  • A face cloth,
  • Baby cereal
  • A warm blanket.

 

All Donations or Complete 'New Mom Support Boxes' can be dropped off at The Parent Centre for distribution within our programmes and communities. This will be an ongoing drive but we hope to kickstart it this Mandela Day.
 
It is through your continued support that we are able to impact parents and children positively and for that, we are truly grateful.
