As many of us are turning up our heaters and cooking hearty winter meals, many Hout Bay community residents are battling the bitterly cold winter months. Debbie’s Place of Hope, run by Deborah Bosse in Hangberg, provides many people in the community with a much-needed nutritional meal.
On Tuesday, 11 July Mustadafin dropped off 48 tins of tomato soup, 30 kilograms of onions, three kilograms of carrots, two big bunches of parsley, eight 30-kilogram bags of maize meal, bottled water, ice cream, and kitchen and bathroom cleaner.
“Thank you so much Mustadafin Foundation for the donation! My heart is so happy. Daily I make food for 200 children and I often have to use my own funds to buy the food, this donation means a lot!” shares Debbie.
“A warm plate of food during these cold days of Cape Town goes a long way. We are thrilled to help Debbie and her community,” says Ghairunisa Johnstone-Cassiem, director at Mustadafin.
