Won Life hosts exciting Mini Sports Day for 180 Pre-Primary, Grade R Learners in Fisantekraal

Won Life is a registered non-profit organization (NPO) and public benefit organization (PBO) with the vision to change lives through education in the community of Fisantekraal.
This vision is carried out through our Won Life Pre-Primary School (ECD Independent School, offering Grade R), English Literacy Centre (focussed on Grade 2 and 3 learners), Teacher Mentorship Programme (aimed at upskilling Foundation Phase Teachers, Grades 1 - 3), High School Education Centre (facilitates homework sessions from Monday to Friday. With access to stationery resources, laptops, printers and relevant academic and personal development workshops).
The Educational Problems in South Africa are vast to say the least and this is no different in the growing community of Fisantekraal, which is based just 10km outside of Durbanville. Won Life has been actively involved in Fisantekraal since 1999 and this has allowed us to understand the day-to-day the challenges that people in the community face (e.g. such as poverty, gangsterism, high crime levels, social injustice etc…). This has also fostered a healthy and organic relationship to develop between Won Life and the community that we serve.
With a good education, children have the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and better define their own futures. Our hope is to cultivate responsible and active citizens resulting in a brighter future for our country. We invite you to join us in changing lives though the provision of excellent education.
On Thursday, March 14th, our Pre-Primary School had an exciting Mini-Sports Day. 180 Grade R learners participated in various fun-filled activities, rotating between a 25 m sprint and hop race, sack races, wheelbarrow races, ball races, tug of war and an obstacle course. Teachers and staff cheered them on as they showed off their skills and teamwork. Everyone had a great time, while learning important lessons about sportsmanship and having fun. The day ended with juices and hotdogs for everyone to enjoy.
