Our brand new Skills and Enterprise Facility....

Author: riaan@wecanchange.co.za

We are so excited to share our new growth into a brand new dedicated Skills and Enterprise Facility, in the neighbouring Capricorn Business Park.

We have been busy renovating and making the space our own, all our Skills Schools and Social Enterprises will be taught from here. We have secured a three-year lease on the 660m2 building. We will continue to use our current building for our Educentre and GED programmes. Our long-term goal is to purchase the building for sustainability and future expansion.

We are so excited to embark on a journey of new growth!

Developing Entrepreneurs - Prince's Story

“I have always had a passion for Media which is what led to me enrol in Sozo's Graphic Design school in 2018 where I learn the basics of graphic design including Basic video editing. This was a stepping stone for my career, to further develop my skills I watched YouTube videos and offered my services to up and coming artists shooting their music videos.

Since graduating from the Sozo Foundation and being able to earn an income, I furthered my studied and completed a short course at UCT studying Documentary Film making and Video Editing. Completing a certificate at UCT gave me the opportunity to network with people in the film industry. This broadened my horizons exposing me to some  “Big Shots” in the industry.

From there I have worked alongside Nelson Mandela associates, the 48 Hour Film Festival and a well-known French production where we made a documentary of South African female artists. All of which gave my good publicity, and I am currently I am a freelancing Cinematographer.

My time at The Sozo Foundation was an eye-opening experience, it taught me to dream big and helped me to become a better person. The lifeskills training gave me the confidence to speak to people which helped me confidently network and expand as a Cinematographer!”

Thank you for standing with us to see lives like Prince's change!
