Project Playground : together we make a difference
Author: info@klassikdigital.co.zaProject Playground’s work is made possible by your support. Without you, we would not be able to create holistic and sustainable change for children and youth in severe vulnerability and exclusion.
Thank you for trusting us with this responsibility. With your help, we will continue working towards a better future for the ones that need it the most.
New programs in Sweden
The autumn term has started, and Project Playground Sweden (PPG Sweden) are delighted to announce a new collaboration with Grönkullaskolan in Rissne, Sundbyberg. We will operate Life Skills and Chills Skills, early intervention and prevention programs that work alongside children and youths aged 11-16 years. Every week, PPG Sweden will conduct after school hours activities at Grönkullaskolan where children and youths can strengthen their capacity to make positive and informed life choices.
Life Skills Club is a preventive program, aimed at children between the ages of 11-13 and concerns children who neither attend the school's leisure activities nor are too young to visit the youth centers.
Chill Skills Club is for youths aged 13-16 and concerns youth who lack meaningful leisure time or risk ending up in social exclusion.
We are really looking forward to the autumn and the collaboration with Grönkullaskolan. Project Playground Sweden would also like to extend a big thank you for the enriching meetings with the school management at Grönkullaskolan. Together we make a difference.
Play Saves Lives!
Children born into poverty are 50% more likely to miss education milestones. Education through sports matter because it is proven to boost educational capability, confidence, mental health, and other learning skills that help not just education levels but working and social lives. Therefore, engaging our participants in sports is so important to us at Project Playground, no matter how big or small. Play saves lives.
This summer, 17 players from Project Playground South Africa got to fly to Sweden and participate in the Gothia Cup 2022. The boys played really well, and we are so proud of them, and to us they are winners no matter what the scoreboard says. We would like to send our warmest regards and a big thank you to all our supporters: you are awesome, it wouldn’t be the same without you, THANK YOU. We can’t wait for next year!
Play builds self-esteem!
Amyoli is a 5-year-old boy in Project Playground's Below8 class. He lacked basic early childhood development and was therefore unaware of the basic colours, and his fine motor skills were not up to standard for his age. Because of this, Amyoli's self-esteem was low, and he was struggling to interact with his classmates. As a result, he would just sit quietly in his place, not participating in class activities.
When Project Playground noticed the situation, we introduced activities suited to Amyoli's level of developments, such as tracing and practicing colors through play. Amyoli slowly started to improve in his work and also had something to be proud of. He became more confident in class and is now keen to interact with his classmates and facilitators.
Thanks to your support we can keep providing individual attention to our children and youth, as well as our long-term goal of instilling self-esteem, optimism, and ability to take initiatives. Because we know that what happens early, matters for a lifetime.

Be the change you want to see in the world!
Today is international Role Model day (Internationella Förebildsdagen). We know that role models are an important source of motivation and self-esteem, therefore, we make sure that our participants have role models to look up to. Our role models are our coaches and leaders, but also the older participants. We see the importance to use role models as many come from similar backgrounds - grown up in a township, absent parents, violence, and crime, but who managed to turn their situation into something good and positive. This creates hope and faith among our participants and shows that we all have the potential to do the same!
We aim to make the world safer and better for vulnerable children by working holistically in providing support and opportunities tailored to their individual needs, so that they have the power to positively change their own lives. Be a role model! Become a monthly hero today, and be part of making the world a better place for children.
