SANCCOB's Chick Rearing Unit in Cape Town is approaching full capacity.
Author: SANCCOB
At the moment, we have 101 African penguin eggs being kept warm and safe in our incubators and 70 chicks and hatchlings in our Chick-Rearing Unit (CRU).
As a friend of SANCCOB, you know that one of our main objectives is to bolster the wild African penguin population through the release of hand-reared chicks. Whilst the sight of a full CRU warms each of our hearts, it's also incredibly overwhelming when it comes to the resources needed to provide the top-class care they deserve. Stay with us on this journey and make a contribution today.
With around 8,300 breeding pairs of African penguins left in South Africa, our hand-rearing efforts are even more necessary, and so is your support.
We have 101 reasons for you to make a donation today; 101 penguin eggs that we are incubating at this very moment. They are the future generation of this beloved species and once hatched, they will need much more than a cosy space. The chicks will need fish feeds, medication and specialised care, and at SANCCOB, we can provide these because of you. To support us, please click here to make a donation.
Alternatively, please email jessica@sanccob.co.za for our banking details, or for any further information.
Together, we can change the survival trajectory of the African penguin.
