They’re Starving. Feed Hungry Pets

Author: info@klassikdigital.co.za

TEARS Animal Rescue has experienced a significant increase in surrenders since the beginning of COVID. Lower-income communities continue to suffer the knock-down effects of COVID.

Marginalised pet owners are not able to feed themselves, their families or animals. Food insecurity extends to pets as owners are not able to afford their pets.

Desperate owners are phoning TEARS to surrender their pets before it is too late. With a full shelter, TEARS is placing dogs and cats on waiting lists and trying to supply pet food parcels in the meantime.

TEARS has launched the Feed Hungry Pets Campaign in order to help bridge pet food insecurity in low-income communities. By giving parcels of pet food to community pet owners, TEARS hopes to help keep pets in homes. Support for the programme has helped us be able to purchase pet food at a cheaper rate and thus increase the amount of food that is distributed.

Give Your 67+ Minutes to TEARS on Mandela Day

Spread the love and choose TEARS Animal Rescue for your charitable contribution this year on Mandela Day. Each year, TEARS is blessed with a flood of volunteer support allowing us to complete projects that we wouldn't be able to without all of the extra hands. Throughout the past two years, we were unable to have a lot of volunteer support due to COVID-19 and the National Lockdown. Unfortunately, we also were not able to hold a Mandela Day event during 2020 and during 2021.

For 2022, our Kennels and Cattery are dreaming big and have put together some projects that we really need some helping hands with.

Explore the Mandela Day Projects, pick a project that is close to your heart and register! https://tears.org.za/mandeladay/

We'll send you an email with the supplies you'll need to bring with you. We are so excited for you to joun us this Mandela Day and help us make the TEARS Shelters the best that they can be. A happy shelter makes for happy pets - and helps them get adopted quicker.

Celebrate Women's Day by Helping Animals

TEARS Animal Rescue has partnered with Fat Harry's, Cape Town's premier live music venue in Kenilworth to host a Women's Day Lunch with a difference, in support of vulnerable pets.

Fat Harry's and their pawsome team also LOVE dogs (and cats) as much as we do....so in honour of the four-legged best friends (and special woman/women) in our lives, we're inviting food & pet lovers to join us for a fun afternoon of live music (with the talented Warren Sayer), delicious food (from the Fat Harry's menu), and some special VIP treatment all for a good cause!

Reserve your table today! https://tears.org.za/womens-day/
